Super Saturday 2012- Sign up Now!

Here are the projects we are offering for Super Saturday 2012 (Oct. 20)- keep scrolling down, there are MANY of them! I will be adding a few photos, but this will give you the general idea. Regardless of the ward split, everyone is welcome to participate in the Spanish Highlands Super Saturday! 




You can sign up to make a project on this blog. Just leave a comment (at the end of this post) with your name, contact info and the details of each project you want.  Pay Abby McGrew by September 30 for projects.  You can also sign up at church on Sunday, September 30, 2012.  We will have the project samples and sign up sheets available outside the Relief Society from 10 am-Noon and possibly later to accommodate members of both wards.


Service Project: Nursery Quiet Books

If you are interested in helping assemble quiet books for the nursery on Super Saturday, please leave a comment below or sign-up at church on September 30. 

CRAFT PROJECTS  

Knit Ruffle Scarves








Cost:$5.25
Color options: Grey, maroon, burnt orange, black, brown or white
What it involves: very basic sewing( sewing two straight lines- that's it!)
Time to make project: 30 minutes


Merry Christmas Wood Blocks



Cost: $7 per set
Choose from two color combinaitons:
1) Cream with cranberry red letters
2) Red & Green with cream letters

What it involves: sanding wood blocks, painting, applying vinyl
Time to make this project: 60-90 minutes
PLEASE NOTE: It is recommended that you sand your blocks before super saturday- it will take much less time on Super Saturday to complete the project.  The wood will be delivered to you approx. one week before Super Saturday. If you would like to borrow an electric sander, contact Heather Taylor at 801-822-7521

T-Shirt Bracelets & Infinity Scarves


Cost: FREE!
Please bring old t-shirt(s) to cut up
Time to make project: 20 minutes or less per item
What is involves: cutting, braiding, hot gluing- very easy
*Even though it is free, please sign-up for this project so that we know how many to plan for.


Greeting Cards (photos coming)

Stenciled Holiday Pillow Covers (Sew and N0-Sew Options)




 

Sewn version: $4.53 if we provide the fabric, $2.00 if you provide the fabric

All pillow kits come with black paint and muslin fabric.
Pillow cover fits a 19 x 19 pillow
What it involves: sewing a very simple cover, ironing on a stencil, painting the stencil
Time to make project: 45 minutes

No-Sew Version
Cost: $7.00
All pillow kits come with black paint. If you would like to paint your letters a different color, please bring your own paint (acrylic craft paint). Fabric is cotton in a natural tan/beige color.

What it invovles: folding, ironing on a stencil, painting the stencil, tying and gluing
Time to complete: 30 min. + drying time


Halloween Wreath 

Cost: $10.00 
Choose word: "Eek" or "Boo"
Please bring your own ribbon to tie on the wreath for a hanger
What it involves: cutting and tying strips of tulle fabric, painting wooden letters, hot gluing accessories


Stenciled Holiday Pennant Banners

Cost: $5.50 for burlap, $4.75 for cotton banner
Choose style:  SPOOKY, THANKFUL, NOEL
Choose word color: black, brown or red
Choose fabric: Tan burlap, white burlap, beige utitily cotton
What it involves: cutting, tracing, painting

Please note: burlap banners will fray a lot. We won't be sewing these at Super Saturday or using Fray Check there, but if you sew around the edge of each pennant, this will also prevent fraying of the burlap and cotton. Cotton can be sealed with Fray Check and will fray less than burlap.
Time to make project: Approximately one hour

Cost for frame only with paint and brush-$16.25  (if you want a paint color other than white, or would like to mod podge paper on your frame, please bring those materials.

Cost for frame with paint, brush, vinyl stencil and "25" print is $21.75

(projet takes 60-90 minutes)

Custom Silhouettes:
Elli Hugh will take your photos to make the silhouettes.  Please plan to meet after church on September 30 to get your photos taken. The finished silhouettes will be given to you at Super Saturday

What it involves: basic cutting, gluing (mod podge) and painting

Instant Art - No crafting required!

All prints are 8x10 and are professionally printed on linen card stock
Cost: $1.00 per print
NO CRAFTING REQUIRED! Just pick up your prints at Super Saturday and frame them in your favorite frame.
To order: write down the name of the print (its written just below the print) and the quantity

Super Saturday 2012

Hi Sisters! I know the fliers said you could sign up for Super Saturday here on the blog, beginning today, but I've had a few technical difficulties.  I apologize.   I hope to get it up tonight or tomorrow at the latest.  Thanks for being patient.

Improving Preparedness June 2012

We are very excited about our up-coming activity for Relief Society centered around improving preparedness!
